– This post comes from HappyScrappy via I think Im lost. There is a lot wrong with this so it is hard to find a place to start. 1. I guess ill start with the general reactions the poster got after this message. For the most part people were applauding her awesome “can do” attitude, which boggles my...
To my dear friend Hoonta
I can honestly say that if it was not for Hoonta (http://ithinkimlost.com/member.php?u=2251), this blog never would have gotten started. From the moment I saw your videos on youtube, I knew that this was a kid was not going to get into the JET program. Your dedication to failure is what inspired me to show prospective applicants what they should NOT do if they want to join the JET brotherhood.

I have a small nose stud piercing and my question is two fold.
1) Should I...
– I think you should wear the nose ring at your interview. That way I can be 100% sure that I wont have to see you, or your ugly nose ring at any potential JET meetings.
I think this may be one of the worst questions I have seen on any of the JET forums. IF you are applying for a job that doesnt...

– First off, how can you be “very” new to something? If you are there for the first time then you would be “new to the forums” If you have visited the site, made an account, verified your email address, and then posted, you are no longer new, or even VERY new.

– From poster Sugar Smap Peas on ITIL in response to a thread about long distance relationships.
I have no sage JET advice for Miss Peas. I would suggest taking a break from writing Inuyasha fan fic to find a boyfriend, but I dont think it would do much good.
Perhaps I’m old as snot, but since they’ve opened the program up now...
– Poster “twiceinalifetime” on ITIL gives his opinion after someone said he would probably be rejected for being old.
Although JET does say that you can apply until you are 40, I think that at that age, you should be doing something a little more permanent and important with your life....
I’ve waited a long time to apply to JET and I wasn’t considered for...
– Another great post from the official Jet forums. This one comes from the aptly named “beginner” It is a great example of someone taking their failure out on the program rather then on themselves. It’s true that the program does not give feedback if you don’t get into the...
“I figured I’d just go ahead to start this since there will be...
– This gem comes from Alicec18 via the Official Jet forums. Now, the question itself is not very terrible, but come on! If you are applying for a professional Job, and will be interviewed at the Japanese consulate common sense would tell you that you would need business professional clothes. If you...

“How dare you tell me that I have no...
– Via DanMRaymond on Big Daikon. This guy is obviously very serious about his love of weed, and his love of japanese culture. Hey big Dan. if you are worrying about a potential drug test just do us all a favor and not apply. Its people like you who make the rest of the gaijins look bad when you get...

– This quote comes from poster NumberNone via ITIL. Getting through the JET program interview is a very important task, but it is not nearly as hard as many potential applicants make it out to be. It will be like any other interview you have had before. Doing a bit of research can be helpful, but...
“So why did you choose the JET program?”
SpecR: interview answer:...
– This quote comes from one of my favorite posters on the I Think Im Lost boards. Not only does he show why he would be an incredibly bad choice for a new ALT, he also manages to show that he understands nothing about the selection process. Although this should not come as a shock to anyone since he...
